Checking a supplier master file against public registers

A supplier file is automatically compared with the official company registers. Each row comes back with a status: up to date, activity changed, establishment closed, company replaced, or not found.

Illustrative mock-up: the names, values and documents shown are fictitious.

Context

The procurement department of a multi-site group with an Excel supplier master file that had never been updated.

The problem

Closed or changed suppliers going undetected, and manual row-by-row checking.

What we built

A web tool that reads the Excel file, queries public APIs (INSEE, Recherche d'entreprises) with rate limiting, and returns an Excel file enriched with the detected status; single sign-on through the company.

Steps

  1. 01Scoping with procurement
  2. 02Cross-referencing with public APIs
  3. 03Version 2 with authentication and rate limiting
  4. 04Integration as an application on the internal platform

Hosting and models

Client's Azure Container Apps; no language model required, public government APIs.
